Mercy in Focus: The Parable of the Good Samaritan

An excellent focus during the Year of Mercy can be the Parable of the Good Samaritan.  Mercy is put into action when the Good Samaritan comes across the man who has been beaten and left for dead on the side of the road.  Whilst others pass by, the Samaritan has mercy and takes the man to safety and provides for his needs.

Pauline Books and Media has an excellent resource kit on the Parable of the Good Samaritan.  Designed for KSI & II the pack includes a poster will illustrations from the parable along with the parable itself.  The pack also contains a memory stick with resources, activity sheets, teaching notes and videos to help bring the most out of this parable.  Included within the pack is a week long activity to help the children put mercy into practice, with awards each day for the Good Samaritan of the day within the school, and a Good Samaritan of the Week award.
