Vatican Official to deliver Public Lecture in Swansea

On Thursday 7th April 2016 Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Vatican’s Official for Relations with the States (the Vatican’s Foreign Minister), will be visiting Swansea University to deliver the 100th Public Theology Lecture.  The title of the lecture remains to be announced.

The public theology lectures are a series of lectures delivered by guest speakers arranged by the Anglican chaplain to Swansea University.  Previous guests have included Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Conner and Anne Widdecombe.  The lectures have covered a range of issues and enable the general public to question the ‘experts’.

To mark the 100th lecture Rev’d Nigel John has managed to secure Archbishop Gallagher.  The Archbishop has most recently been seen on ITV news expressing the option that the United Kingdom should remain in the European Union.

The lecture is free of charge and begins with some entertainment at 6:00 pm by the legendary entertainer and Papal Knight Don McClean.  The event will be held at the Great Hall on Swansea University’s Bay Campus, SA1 8EN.  Parking is available on campus.  Parishes are invited to arrange bus transportation.  Groups bringing buses should inform Rev’d Nigel John by email at
