Standing with London

On hearing of the atrocities in London on Saturday night, Archbishop George Stack contacted Archbishop Peter Smith of Southwark to assure him and his people of our sympathy and prayers in the face of such horror and violence. St. George’s Cathedral, Southwark, is in the vicinity of London Bridge and many local people as well as workers will have been deeply affected at the violence visited on their city.

Once again, it is the task of all people of good will to stand united when confronted with those who wish to destroy our way of life. The solidarity shown by faith leaders is one example of the importance of speaking and acting with one voice of justice and compassion.
