Spiro Borg KSG

When the Archbishop of Cardiff celebrates a Pontifical Mass he is attended by Knights and Dames of the Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great. This Papal order was founded by Pope Gregory XVI in 1831 as a memorial of his predecessor, Pope Gregory the Great (540 – 604 AD).  The Order is given in recognition of those who give “distinguished service to Church and State”.

During the Mass of Chrism to be held at St. David’s Cathedral, Cardiff, on Tuesday 12 April, the Archbishop will be attended by a newly installed Knight, Mr. Spiro Borg KSG.  He is well known to countless people throughout the Diocese of Cardiff and in the wider community of South Wales. The Holy Father has bestowed this honour in recognition of the devoted service offered by our new Knight to the work of the Church and to the many community charities which have his ongoing support.
