Seminarian admitted as Candidate for Holy Orders

At a Mass at St. Mary’s College, Oscott on Tuesday 17th May 2016, Seminarian Nick Williams was admitted as a Candidate for Holy Orders.

Candidacy marks the end of the discernment period of formation and the Church formally acknowledges the candidate has a call from God for service in Holy Orders.  A delegation of clergy from the diocese attended the ceremony in support of Nick.  He will continue his formation at Oscott and will, pray God, be ordained to the diaconate next year.

Seminarian Robert James, will also be admitted as a Candidate for Holy Orders on Saturday 28th May at Allen Hall Seminary.

Seminarian Daniel Stanton, also at Oscott, has been accepted for Ordination and will be ordained to the Diaconate next month and complete his formation for priesthood next year.

This is a great sign for the diocese, following a very dry period of vocations.  Continue to pray for Vocations and for our seminarians Daniel, Robert, Nick, Laurence and Elliot as they continue their formation.
