Reopening our churches

On Friday 19th June 2020 after 3 months of church closures as part of the Covid-19 lockdown, the Welsh Government announced that places of worship could reopen for private prayer. And now on Friday 10th July 2020 it was announced that we can begin to reopen for public worship from Monday 13th July 2020 if safe to do so.

Parishes within the Archdiocese of Cardiff are following detailed guidelines to safely reopen our churches.  Given the time and resources required to make a church “Covid Safe” not all of our churches will reopen immediately.

As churches make know their reopen dates and schedules we will update this page for you to know where the nearest open church is.  The left-hand column signifies church opening for private prayer only whilst the right-hand column gives details regarding the resumption of public worship.  If a church has times available for both Private Prayer and Public Worship they will appear in BOTH Columns.

Check back often to keep up to date.

Public Worship

  • The Welsh Government announced a return to public worship on Friday 10th July 2020.  Preparations are still underway by our churches to be certified Covid-safe.  Check back for updates.
