Archbishop issues Pastoral message to those working on the front line of Coronavirus fight

As the Church enters into that part of Lent known as “Passiontide”, Archbishop George issued a Pastoral Message to the healthcare workers on the front line of the coronavirus battle.  Reflecting upon the Way of the Cross, the Archbishop recalled how ‘three significant’ people helped Christ on the Way.  Mary, Simon of Cyrene and Veronica in their own way came to the help of Jesus.  Their example, is also reflected in the work undertaken by our amazing healthcare workers in these difficult times.

The Archbishop expressed the solidarity and support of the people in prayer and compassion in what is a demanding and difficult time for them and for their families.  He concluded by highlight the words of Pope Francis, about them, at Friday’s extraordinary Urbi et Orbi.

We all want to express our immense gratitude to our healthcare workers and we as parishes want you to know we are here for you.
