Daeth cynulleidfa fawr ynghyd i ddathlu’r Offeren yn eglwys y plwyf, Y Fenni ar ddechrau mis Awst. Roedd yn achlysur arbennig iawn a chroeso’r plwyf yn gynnes a chofiadwy.
The parish of Our Lady and St Michael was the host for the Welsh language Mass in the week of the National Eisteddfod in early August. This was the Welsh language celebration of the centenary of the Province of Wales and Herefordshire, and the church was full for the great occasion.
The choir was in fine voice and the church resounded to the congregation’s singing of the Welsh hymns, including Calon Lân. Bishop Emeritus Edwin Regan presided and the Abbot of Belmont, Rt Rev Dom Paul Stonham, con-celebrated with other diocesan priests. The sermon was preached by Fr Allan Jones, CRIC, chaplain to Y Cylch Catholig, and a greeting from the Papal Nuncio was printed in Welsh and in English in the Mass booklet.
Many thanks to the parishioners for their warm welcome and for the magnificent buffet supper which rounded off the evening.
