Archbishop expresses solidarity with Nantes

Over the course of the weekend we have seen that the Cathedral church of St. Peter and St. Paul in the French city of Nantes has been hit by a devastating fire.  This beautiful Medieval building has witnessed the destruction of its grand organ.  The city of Nantes is twinned with the city of Cardiff.  Archbishop George Stack has sent the following message to Bishop Jean-Paul James of Nantes.

Your Excellency,

I write on behalf of the City of Cardiff which is proudly twinned with the City of Nantes. I  express our sadness at the fire which has engulfed your Cathedral of St.Peter and St. Paul in Nantes. Please be assured of the solidarity of the people of Cardiff at this difficult time.  Be assured of  the kindest thoughts and  prayers of the Catholic community here in the capital of Wales.

+George Stack
Archbishop of Cardiff

Please pray for the Diocese of Nantes at this time.
