Our journey through Lent is a sign of our journey on the pathway of continual conversion. Many of our churches will be offering extended periods of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) as an express of our repentance. Maybe you haven’t been to Confession in quite some time; you may even be afraid. Look to the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32) Notice how even in the half-hearted repentance of the son, the Father still longs for his return and welcomes him with arms open wide. Do not be afraid.
