Joy as Deacon ordained in Newport

There was a sense of great joy on Sunday as All Saints Parish in Newport celebrated the ordination of a new Permanent Deacon.  Pasquale Cinotti a resident of the parish was ordained to the diaconate by Archbishop George Stack at an evening Mass with St. Mary’s Church on Stow Hill, Newport.

Deacon Pasquale who is originally from Italy, is a local businessman within Newport.  He was accompanied to the ordination by his extensive family including his wife Teresa and their two children.  The new Deacon’s parents made the journey over from Italy for the occasion.

Also present was Bishop Joseph Affifa from Ghana who is a friend of the newly ordained.  There were also ecumenical guests present for what was a beautiful celebration. At the end of the ceremony, Archbishop George blessed the new Deacon and his family; then Deacon Pasquale thanked everyone for their presence and remarked on how he looks forward to progressing in the journey of faith together with the people of All Saints.
