As a registered charity, the Archdiocese of Cardiff can claim Gift Aid on donations given by a donor who is a UK tax payer and chooses to Gift Aid their contribution. By completing a Gift Aid Declaration form for every £1 donated the diocese can claim an extra 25p from HM Revenues and Customs (HMRC) at no extra cost to the donor.

Each parish has a Gift Aid co-ordinator who volunteer their time to track and record Gift Aided donations.  The Finance Office collects all the Gift Aid information from the co-ordinators and completes a Gift Aid return for the Diocese.  The funds are then allocated back to the parishes according to what the parish co-ordinators submitted.

Throughout the year we have second collections that come with a separate Gift Aid envelope.  These returns are sent directly to the cause involved and treated separately from parish donations.

If you are a taxpayer in the UK and do not currently Gift Aid your donations to your local parish, please contact your local parish to complete and return a Gift Aid from.  It couldn’t be any easier.

The Archdiocese of Cardiff completes and submits an Annual Financial Statement to the UK Charities Commission.  You can view and download our financial statements using the button below.
