“Will you go away too?” was the question that Jesus put to Peter. Peter could not leave the Christ he loved. Why do we stay trying to remain faithful in a Church that has known corruption and sin? Is it something of the head or the heart? Is it the experience of beauty, of truth, of mystical heights and earthly depths, of sacramental presence? Is it being part of a community, of tears and laughter, local and universal? Five monks share their reason to be part of this “living, throbbing, sinning people of God” and what being a Catholic Christian means to them.
