“Do You Love Me?”
It’s the question the Risen Jesus asked St Peter on the beach, as narrated at the end of John’s Gospel.
It’s the question the Risen Jesus asks each one of us whenever we consider devoting a little of our time to prayer.
In 2014, the Bishops of England & Wales issued a book of spiritual reflections, entitled, “Do You Love Me?”, an invitation to explore many different kinds of prayer.
We are delighted to announce that one of the authors of that book, Kathryn Turner, will be visiting the Archdiocese of Cardiff on the 3rd and 4th of February, 2017, following a successful visit to Menevia to explore the same material.
Kathryn is Head of the Department for Spirituality in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, and will be running a “taster” session exploring what Do You Love Me? has to offer in three venues across the Diocese.
The Cardiff event, on Saturday 4th February, is also an invitation to everyone offering spiritual activities in the Archdiocese to come and share something about their work.
The main Friday event is an INSET Day especially suitable for primary and secondary schoolteachers, and school chaplains, but also open to other interested persons; alongside Kathryn’s presentation, the Diocesan Director of Adult Education, Revd Dr Gareth Leyshon, will present recent research on why committed Catholics become committed Catholics, with suggestions on how this can help shape what we offer our young people.
At both of these events, Kathryn will also offer a short presentation of useful spiritual resources for Lent.
The third event will be a short Friday evening presentation solely on “Do You Love Me?” at Belmont Abbey.
Advance booking is requested for all of these events via this form, which also details the exact timetable and cost of each event.
Any enquiries about the events should be directed to Revd Gareth Leyshon on 029 2073 1061.
