Diocese prepares for 24 hours for the Lord

An important part of Lent during this Holy Year of Mercy is the invitation of Pope Francis that the whole Church should set aside “24 Hours for the Lord”.  This will take place from Friday 4th March to Saturday 5th March. It is a call to penance in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Each parish within the Diocese has been invited to undertake this initiative as best they can.  As news of locations have been submitted for publication, a number of parishes have chosen to ‘combine’ their efforts to make the most of the 24 hour period.  Details of locations hosting the 24 hours initiative are now being published on the Diocesan website.  Check back regularly for updates and engage in this real encounter with the Lord.
