Cardiff Cathedral to host NightFever Initiative

On Saturday May 7th St David’s Cathedral will play host to the Evangelisation Initiative known as ‘NightFever’.  NightFever offers people who pass churches the opportunity to pop in, light a candle and offer a prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament at times when the church would usually be closed.

Volunteers stand on the street and offer a warm smile and a ‘hello’ to passers-by, inviting them into the church to say a quick prayer.  The volunteers lead those accept the offer into the church to light a candle in front of the Blessed Sacrament while other volunteers offer prayers and music in praise of the Lord.

Nightfever has been successfully run twice in Cardiff at the University Chaplaincy in the heart of the student area of the city.  With the cathedral playing host in May, passers-by will be in the shopping and nightlife areas of Cardiff.  The event will run from 17:30-22:00 on May 7th.  All are welcome to attend and volunteers are welcome.
