The celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is an invitation to enter more deeply into the life of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. St. Augustine reasoned if God is Love then it stands that there is a threefold relationship in God, that of the Lover, Beloved and the Love between them.
In Baptism we become part of the Mystical Body of Christ on Earth, caught up in the saving action of the Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ. In Confirmation the Divine Love of the Holy Spirit sheds its rays upon us, strengthening us and carrying us forward on the path of sanctification. So it is apt that on this wonderful day 20 young people from the Belmont Abbey parish confirmed their faith as Archbishop George Stack celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation with them.
We pray for these and all the confirmands throughout the diocese that their faith may be strengthened daily and they may be caught up more deeply in the mystery that is the life of the Most Holy Trinity.
