Acclaimed poetry festival returns to Cornerstone

In 2018 Cornerstone played host to the first Cardiff Poetry Festival in co-ordination with Seren Books.  The event proved a great success as Cornerstone provided a magnificent backdrop for a weekend of poetry and arts.  Our own Archbishop George Stack even had a part to play as he was interviewed as to his ‘Desert Island Poems’ over afternoon tea.

“The first Cornerstone Poetry Festival did what the name says: it laid the foundations for building an exciting, diverse and top class celebration of poetry that is a credit to Cardiff and to Wales. It brought spring bouncing into a chilly February weekend.”

Following the success of last year’s event, Seren Books and Cornerstone are pleased to announce the second Cardiff Poetry Festival taking place on the weekend of 8th-10th February 2019.

Curated by Seren’s Poetry Editor Amy Wack, the Seren Cornerstone Poetry Festival will be a vibrant weekend of events that will showcase a diverse and exciting range of artists: poetry, art, music and film from new and established voices.

The likes of Jonathan Edwards and Robert Minhinnick return to Cardiff and are joined by names including Peter Finch, Debbie Taylor and Owen Sheers to deliver a wonderful showcase.  Archbishop George Stack also returns for another Afternoon Tea to talk about his favourite poems.
