The Diocesan Evangelisation Group exists to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people of South-East Wales and Herefordshire, and to invite them to become Disciples of Jesus Christ as members of the Catholic Church.
Every Catholic is called upon to do this in the circumstances of their own life, but by working together, we can do more. The Come & See project, launched by Archbishop George Stack on 8 March 2013, is the official project of the Archdiocese of Cardiff to make the Catholic Faith, and the person of Jesus Christ, known to the wider community in Cardiff City, and through its indirect impact, to the whole of Wales.
During 2013 & 2014, the Diocesan Evangelisation Group ran the Come & See project, primarily through arranging events at the Archdiocese’s Cardiff City Centre venue, the Cornerstone at St David’s. Through live speakers and drop-in prayer experiences, we presented the Church’s message to all who wished to come and listen. In 2015, we promoted Proclaim’15 – a national conference in Birmingham (July) and a Diocesan Conference in Cardiff (October).
Following these major events, we now support a network of 120 evangelisers working across the Archdiocese of Cardiff. On the First Monday of each month, we offer a monthly opportunity for evangelisers to come together to share fellowship, with an intercession-focussed meeting once a quarter and training in other months. On the Third Monday of each month, the Diocesan Team (the CADETs) meets to plain future training activities and Diocesan-scale outreach events.
The Evangelisation Group also arranges training activities for members of local parishes. If you would like to help make any of this happen, you can become one of our CADETs or Volunteers!
