Last Sunday BBC Radio 4 broadcast its ‘Sunday Worship’ programme live from an early morning Mass for the feast of Corpus Christi at our own Cardiff Cathedral. It was a very early start for Archbishop George Stack who delivered the homily, and for Canon Peter Collins, Dean of the Cathedral, who presided the Mass. They were joined by members of the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir, who were on excellent form, and a modest gathering of laity who came to support the occasion.
Following extensive rehearsals on the Saturday the broadcast went live to the nation early Sunday morning. In his homily the Archbishop referred to the broken Body of Christ given for us to join our sufferings with his and movingly reflected upon the Grenfell Tower fire that had only happened days before. “Where is God in all of this?” … “Here” says Jesus, his arms outstretched on the Cross. The broadcast is available for a short time on BBC iPlayer and can be accessed from the link below.
